Behind the Eye

(NYU Grad Film, Short Observational Character Study Documentary, 2020)

Director/DP/Editor

An ocularist hand crafts prosthetic eyes to help restore physical and emotional balance for one family in the heartland of the country.

The second NYU grad film project is an approx. 5 minute, color, observational documentary exercise in which we find and observe a person from real life who will be the subject of the piece. The OCS project compels the filmmaker to use the camera to capture life as it happens, a skill which leads to more truthful and authentic behavior in their narrative fictional work.
